Andrés Iniesta and Sergio Busquets were substituted early due to injury issues in FC Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League, but neither case seems too bad. Jordi Alba also felt pain, but apparently it was only a cramp.
Iniesta had come back slightly early from a hamstring injury he suffered against Atlético Madrid, and he was substituted for Paulinho in this match. According to Mundo Deportivo, his injury did not get worse, though it’s unclear if he will be available for the next match.
Busquets suffered a serious injury on his toes, though the extent will not be known until more tests are done. It’s thought that he will not be available for this weekend’s game against Athletic Bilbao, nor for Spain during the upcoming international break. He could be available for the next match though, against Sevilla.
Alba seems fine, and also, Samuel Umtiti seems OK despite having been seen complaining about pain in his shoulder. After halftime the pain went away. Finally, Gerard Piqué’s knee, which has been a source of concern for a while now, seemed totally fine today.
