Ernesto Valverde says he does not expect Denis Suarez to be out for too long after the midfielder picked up an injury in Wednesday’s Supercopa de Catalunya win over Espanyol.
Denis started the game and had a few bright moments but was forced off with a groin problem shortly before half-time.
Barcelona went on to win the game on penalties after a goalless draw and after the match Valverde had praise for Denis and also said he should not be out for long.
“I was pleased with how he was playing because he was very committed to the game and what we were trying to do,” he said.
”It is a pity about his injury, it is just a blow to his adductor muscle.
”I don’t think he’ll be out for a long time and he’ll be back with us again shortly.”

The game was Denis’ first outing since the Copa del Rey clash with Espanyol back in January. Since then he seems to have fallen completely out of favour and it’s tough to say when we might see him back in action again.
