Pep Guardiola paid tribute to Andres Iniesta on Friday following the midfielder’s announcement that this season will be his last at Barcelona.
An emotional Iniesta held a press conference to confirm he will be departing Camp Nou at the end of the season and Pep was quick to offer his thanks to the Barca legend.
“I want to thank him. People think managers help the players but he helped me understand the game better, just watching how he plays the game,” he told reporters.
“Hopefully he comes back to Barcelona to teach young players, or professional players, what he showed on the pitch.”
Iniesta is expected to feature for Barcelona on Sunday at Deportivo La Coruna when the club need just a point to secure another La Liga title.
