France boss Didier Deschamps has given a positive update on Ousmane Dembele’s fitness and said there’s “no way” he will miss the World Cup through injury.
Barcelona have only confirmed the nature of the injury, and not how long he will be out for, but Deschamps is expecting him back in action for France soon.
“Right now we’re not ruling out having him available for Monday [a friendly against Ireland], based on the reports I have and his sensations,” he said.
”I can’t hide the fact I feared the worst when I saw the tackle but I was able to talk with him and a serious injury was ruled out.
”It’s just a bit of bruising now after the sprain, but it’s not serious. It’s a small injury, he won’t miss the World Cup, no way.”
