Barcelona are said to be heavily interested in buying Atlético Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, and one big reason why is that they see him as Luis Suárez’s eventual replacement, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Suárez is 31, so he still has a few years left. But, that might be it - a few years. And after that time has past, Barcelona would certainly need a replacement. And when that time comes, will there be a striker who is Barça quality who will cost anything like 100 million euro, the price for paying Griezmann’s release clause?
The report says Barcelona is OK with “overbooking” the team in the forward positions for the moment if it means strengthening their hand for the future. And what better problem to have, than the problem of having too much quality?
