Barcelona have been warned off a potential move for Santos starlet Rodrygo by the Brazilian’s club.
There have been plenty of rumours recently that Barcelona quite fancy a move for the 17-year-old who has rather predictably been dubbed the ‘new Neymar’ already.
Santos have now had their say and club president José Carlos Peres is adamant the youngster is going nowhere for now.
“He is not for sale,” he said.
“He would miss the path to mature in Brazilian football, and that would take at least two years, while there is no conversation.
“He has two years remaining on his contract and a €50m clause.”

Of course a €50 million release clause is unlikely to ward off any of the top European clubs and Santos may face a battle to keep hold of Rodrygo if anyone does show serious interest.
