FC Barcelona are “all-in” for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong, according to Fernado Polo in Mundo Deportivo. The blaugrana are adamant they want to secure the services of the youngster this summer, although they may accept a deal in which the player doesn’t actually come until next year.

De Jong is said to only have Barcelona in his mind, but Ajax are not keen on letting him go this summer. In any case, Barcelona fear competition from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid for his signature and want to secure the player as soon as possible.

The report also says that De Jong’s agent, Ali Dursun, has met with FC Barcelona officials Pep Segura and Éric Abidal, and Abidal’s predecessor, Robert Fernández. The player’s entourage, according to the report, says they think Ajax will finally accept if a good enough offer comes in - something in the region of 40 or 50 million euro.

MD also contradicts earlier reports that said only one of Adrien Rabiot or De Jong will be signed, saying both are considered targets. Arthur, Rabiot, and De Jong would replace the departed Andrés Iniesta and Paulinho, plus the soon-to-be departed, André Gomes.
