Paul Pogba: Maybe?

We have heard of a “mystery signing” Barcelona are working on, and we put our detective hat on, and figured out it might be Manchester United’s Paul Pogba. But, Gerard Romero has said that as of today, Pogba is not an option for Barcelona. Hmm. Now, Miguel Rico of Mundo Deportive has said that Pogba is an option, but only the fourth choice option after Frenkie De Jong, Adrien Rabiot, and Willian. But, it would be financially difficult to spend so much on yet another big signing.

De Jong Insistance

Rico says De Jong is “first priority” for Barcelona, despite continued insistence from Ajax that he’s not for sale. Still, Barcelona intend on trying to find a way to bring the Dutchman to the Camp Nou.

Thiago on the List

Thiago Alcântara is not the first option, but he is on FC Barcelona’s list, claims Romero. Thiago has been linked with a move back to the Camp Nou, and there is indication that Bayern Munich may be willing to part with him. But there is still “a lot left” for a transfer to materialize, Romero concluded.

Rabiot To Reject Renewal

Adrien Rabiot is resisting calls from Paris Saint-Germain to renew his contract, which would make him free in a year’s time, according to Xavier Muñoz from Mundo Deportivo. And that has given Barcelona confidence they can make a deal. He says that Pep Segura and Éric Abidal will soon be in Paris hoping to strike an agreement. PSG had so far rejected calls for negotiations, as they tried to convince their academy player to stay. But it seems the Frenchman is keen on a move, and as the days go by, PSG’s position weakens.

Willian Pushing for Move

Barcelona are still interested in Willian, but Chelsea will not want an exodus of their best players on their hands, says Rico. Thibaut Courtois is on the verge of signing for Real Madrid, and Eden Hazard is thought to be on a similar path. Chelsea won’t let Willian go unless they can extract an astronomical fee for him. However, the player himself is said to be pushing for the move.
