“FC Girondins de Bordeaux informs you that an agreement has been reached, subject to the signature of the administrative documents, with AS Roma for the transfer of Malcom,” the club’s official Twitter read.

It seemed like a done deal, Malcom was joining Roma. Only... what’s this?

Barcelona are trying to hijack the deal!”

That’s according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has been on Sky Sports and The Guardian, and works for Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Malcom, he says, has cancelled plans to fly to Rome, which has left the capital club “angry.” Roma apparently were waiting for him at the airport and even had planned medical tests for tomorrow.

If this is true, it would signal, perhaps, an end to the Barcelona’s pursuit of Willian. The Chelsea winger had been linked with a move to the Camp Nou, but it would be unlikely to materialize if Barça opted for another winger.

It would also be a shocking development in the transfer market, given that the selling club had already officially announced the transfer.
