Manchester United have cooled their interest in Leicester City’s Harry Maguire and set their sights on another young defender who impressed during the World Cup, Yerry Mina, according to Sky Sports News.

The Barcelona defender has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou after just half a season, with several clubs such as Everton and Lyon said to be interested.

Questions remain over the Colombian’s viability in Ernesto Valverde’s system, but with three goals in the World Cup, he is a hot commodity.

Perhaps in a coy hint, Mina has followed Manchester United’s official account, as well as Paul Pogba and Antonio Valencia, on Instagram.

Everton has just officially announced the arrival of an FC Barcelona defender, Lucas Digne, and they had been linked with a double swoop of Digne along with Mina. Lyon were also in the picture, but according to Radio Monte Carlo, as of now, United are favorites to land him.
