FC Barcelona are interested in two promising young stars from Boca Juniors, according to Mundo Deportivo. Reports that Leo Balerdi and Agustín Almendra have caught the eye of the blaugrana come not long after Boca played the Joan Gamper trophy match against Barça, which the Catalans won 3-0.

The pair have won the L’Alcúdia International Football Tournament with the Argentine under-20 national team, and both would be signings for the B team. The pair were starters for that Argentina team, coached by the current interim coach of the Argentina senior team, Lionel Scaloni. Alemndra captained the side in their 2-1 final triumph over Russia.

TyC Sports reports that Barcelona have offered 10 million euro for the 19-year-old Balerdi, a central defender. He is right-footed and is 1.87m tall. He has made appearances for Boca’s senior team, but as of right now, is a regular only for the reserves.

The 18-year-old Almendra has been compared to Boca legend Juan Roman Riquelme and is 1.72m tall. He plays a central midfielder on the right, and he played 26 minutes in the Gamper match. He has been making appearances for Boca’s first team since last season. He was am unused substitute in Boca’s last match, a 0-2 loss against Estudiantes de La Plata.
