The long list of teams across Europe tracking Frenkie De Jong has gotten even longer, with De Telegraaf reporting that Real Madrid are willing to offer 80 million euros for the Ajax midfielder. De Jong has been a priority signing on Barcelona’s wish list for a long time, but it seems teams like Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur will offer plenty of competition.

Apparently, los blancos see De Jong as Luka Modrić’s long-term replacement. But even that large sum being prepared may not be enough, the report warns. Pretty good for a kid Ajax signed from Willem II for just 300,000 euros a few years ago.

Barcelona reportedly tried to sign the player last summer, only to be rebuffed by the Amsterdam club. Despite the heated competition, Barcelona are understood to still have their sights firmly on the youngster.

What do you think? Is he worth these crazy prices?
