FULL-TIME, Barcelona 1-1 Athletic Bilbao: Credit to Athletic for a sensational performance, and credit to Barça for fighting back. This was a really good game between two really good teams, and a draw seems fair at the end.
GOAL!!! Barcelona 1-1 Athletic Bilbao (Munir 84’): THE EQUALIZER HAS FINALLY COME!!! Lionel Messi chased down a bad pass from Luis Suárez and still found a way to get a shot off, force a save, get the rebound, and give Munir a tap-in. GAME ON!!!
HALFTIME, Barcelona 0-1 Athletic Bilbao: For any neutral watching, this has been a high-level game of football with two teams playing really well according to their gameplans. Barça used the ball well and created really good chances, and Bilbao showed defensive solidity and were quick and sharp on the counter. Athletic have the lead, but Barça are playing well enough to still have a shot at winning this. We can’t lose faith.
GOAL, Barcelona 0-1 Athletic Bilbao (De Marcos 41’): The visitors have defended well and were dangerous on the counter throughout the first half, and now they get a reward: a fantastic cross from Susaeta finds Óscar De Marcos alone in the box, and the right-back beats Ter Stegen and puts Athletic ahead. This has been an even game and anyone who scored deserved it, and it’s Bilbao who strike first.
KICKOFF! Barcelona 0-0 Athletic Bilbao: Please win this and don’t give me a heart attack, boys. Please.
