Arturo Vidal has hit back at reports he is struggling with a knee problem while on international duty with Chile.

The Barcelona summer signing is currently in Japan ahead of a friendly at the Sapporo Dome.

Speculation has claimed he was forced to leave training because of a recurrence of a knee problem, but he’s not having any of it.

“I heard a lot of things and they are all untrue. There is nothing wrong with me,” he said.

“I left before the on-field training to rest after the long trip, I went into the gym and rode the stationary bicycle, but I did the training as usual.

“It was a 24-hour trip and training on top of that is not easy, but everything is fine.”

Chile are scheduled to play Japan on Friday before heading for a second friendly against South Korea.

Vidal is yet to start for Barcelona this season, so he’ll be hoping to see some game time for his national team.
