The mood at the Camp Nou is a calm one, though, according to director of institutional relations Guillermo Amor.

Valverde: We knew perfectly well that Chumi was suspended | Marca
Ernesto Valverde batted away questions about whether or not Chumi was eligible to play in the first leg defeat against Levante last week, with Barcelona winning the second leg 3-0 on Thursday night. Having received a fifth booking of the season for the B team, Chumi was considered ineligible but Valverde says there is no case and that the suspension does not apply in the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona’s Copa del Rey participation is up in the air after Levante filed a complaint over an alleged illegal line-up from the first leg of the two sides’ last 16 tie. B team defender Chumi played in that game even though he had to serve a suspension with the B team the following weekend and Levante are claiming this should see the Blaugrana punished.

He has made just 10 appearances in all competitions, with six of them coming as a substitute.
