Barcelona have sent a message of support to former midfielder Andres Gomes after he suffered an awful injury playing for Everton against Tottenham on Sunday.
The 26-year-old suffered the horror injury late on in the game at Goodison Park that left him screaming in pain and saw him stretchered off after receiving lengthy treatment.
Heung-min Son was sent off for his tackle on Gomes and was visibly distraught afterwards, leaving the pitch in tears and having to be consoled afterwards.
Former Barcelona defender Lucas Digne was one of the first players to reach Gomes after the challenge and helped support him before the medics arrived.
Barcelona took to Twitter to offer their support to Gomes.
We are sorry to hear about the horrible injury of André Gomes. We wish you a speedy recovery, and our thoughts are with you. ❤️ https://t.co/f9vVMtBQT9

Everton have not yet confirmed the severity of the injury, but the fear is that he has broken his leg and will be out of action for a significant period of time.
Let’s hope the injury is not as bad as feared and Gomes can recover fully and quickly.
