FULL-TIME, Atlético 0-1 Barcelona: It doesn’t matter how well Atlético play, they have to face Lionel Messi. And Diego Simeone still hasn’t defeated Barça in La Liga.

GOAL!!!!!! Atlético 0-1 Barcelona (Messi 86’): BARÇA TAKE THE LEAD!!! Lionel Messi makes a brilliant one-two with Luis Suárez and scores a beautiful goal from outside the box! IS THIS THE WINNER?!

75min: Atlético are alive again and came very close to scoring if not for a huge goal-line clearance by Sergi Roberto. Álvaro Morata has been a terror, and the Atleti midfield continues to play better.

60min: Barça have all 10 outfield players in Atleti’s half, but no chances created yet. The home team looks solid as always, and Barça don’t look sharp in the final third.

SECOND HALF KICKOFF! Atlético 0-0 Barcelona: Let’s play better and get this win, boys!

HALFTIME, Atlético 0-0 Barcelona: Terrible half for Barça, who were completely dominated in the first 35 minutes and should have been at least 2-0 down if not for a monster game by Ter Stegen. The last 10 minutes were encouraging with at least two big chances, including a header from Piqué that hit the bar.

30min: A bad start is now a straight up bad game from Barça. Atleti are on a blitz and should have scored at least once.

15min: Bad start from Barça. Sloppy passing, very little movement in the attacking third, and a lot of space on the flanks for Atleti to attack.

KICKOFF! Atlético 0-0 Barcelona: Come on, boys! Let’s get a big road win!

WELCOME TO THE WANDA METROPOLITANO!!! The only good stadium in the Spanish capital is the home of Atlético Madrid and the site of a giant La Liga match between the hosts and two-time defending Barcelona, who come into this one needing a win to stay top of the table. But Atleti are really good and will seek revenge against Antoine Griezmann, so this promises to be tough and fun. And you are welcome to join us to follow and comment all the action. Matchday Thread Rules

We don’t have a lot of rules here, but there are a few things to keep in mind when joining our matchday threads:

Even if the referee sucks or we lose the game, be careful with the swearing. It’s just unnecessary. Also, don’t discuss illegal streaming links. Those who do it will be warned, and those who post links will be instantly banned. Finally, be nice to each other. This is a Barcelona community and we don’t need to offend one another.

Have fun with the game! Forever and ever, no matter the competition, VISCA EL BARÇA!
