Arthur looks set for more time on the sidelines after missing training on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash against Real Sociedad in La Liga.

The Brazilian did not take part in the session, although Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba both featured and are closing in on a return to first-team action.

Barca have had to cope without their two full-backs for a little while now but it seems they are not far off being declared fit and available.

However, it’s not such good news for Arthur who has not featured since the win over Atletico at the start of the month.

There are all sorts of dodgy rumors about Arthur flying around at the moment, but Valverde spoke about the Brazilian’s fitness problems ahead of the clash with Inter.

The Barca boss said it was an injury he had played through last season and that this time around he’d decided to rest to see if it improves.

Sport report that it’s not yet known when Arthur will return to action, while Mundo Deportivo say he’s continued with his recovery plan this week but will miss the trip to Anoeta.
