Real Sociedad have hit back at Barcelona’s claims they should have had a late penalty for a foul on Gerard Pique in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.

The Spanish champions have reportedly complained to the RFEF after seeing an appeal turned down when Pique had his shirt pulled in the penalty area.

Sergio Busquets had conceded a spot-kick earlier in the match for a similar offence, but Sociedad aren’t having any of it and reckon the referee got the decision spot on.

The club posted a series of tweets explaining their view. They say they enjoyed yesterday’s “great game” and then post pictures of the incident saying they “clearly show reality.”

Sociedad then go a step further and look back to other incidents where they feel they were hard done by against Barca. They also say “we could show you more.”

Sociedad then end on a conciliatory note with a photo of club legends Andrés Iniesta and Xabi Prieto on their final appearances for their clubs last year.
