Frenkie de Jong is looking forward to his first Clasico as a Barcelona player and has given an interview ahead of Wednesday’s clash at the Camp Nou.
The Dutchman was part of the Ajax team that knocked Los Blancos out of the Champions League last season but is expecting a different type of game this time around.
De Jong also added that the Clasico he has enjoyed watching the most was Barca’s 5-0 win over Real Madrid at the Camp Nou back in 2010.
“Last year’s match with Ajax was very special, but now it’s another game and I’m on another team, so it will be different,” he said.
“I’m really excited as it will be my first Clásico. I’ve followed all the others on television and the one I enjoyed the most was the 5-0 at the Camp Nou.
”It’s the same on the day - playing against Real Madrid is always special. Also, my family will come to see me, and they’ll surely experience a spectacular atmosphere.”

De Jong should start Wednesday’s Clasico in midfield for Barcelona and has also said his team will try to “dominate the game” as they look for the win that will take them three points clear at the top of La Liga.
