Vicente del Bosque, the legendary former manager of Real Madrid and Spain, has given his opinion on the upcoming match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

Speaking at an event organized by El Mundo to celebrate the Spanish language, the World Cup winner said he hoped el clásico would be “an example in behavior, a good image for the world, let it be just football and let it be a good advertisement for our sport and for [Spain].”

Del Bosque was alluding to fears that the match would be in some way affected by political tensions, which had already postponed the game from earlier this year until tomorrow.

“And after that, may the best one win,” Del Bosque said.
