Will he be involved in Barcelona’s Champions League match?

Last time we saw Malcom, he had scored an equalizer in el clásico, a Copa del Rey draw that ended 1-1 between Barcelona and Real Madrid. He hasn’t featured since. Now, as Barça prepare to take on Lyon in the UEFA Champions League, will we see him again?

One reason for his inclusion could be his record against Olympique Lyonnais. In four matches against OL, Malcom has scored four goals, including three in two visits to Parc Olympique Lyonnais. The Brazilian also has not lost against Lyon, having secured two draws and two wins against them.

The winger, playing for FC Girondins Bordeaux, was part of a 3-1 win away to OL in the 16-17 Ligue 1 season, a game in which he scored. He did not score in the home fixture that season, but Bordeaux held Lyon to a 1-1 draw. The next season, Malcom scored a brace away to Lyon as Bordeaux drew 3-3 against them. And in his most recent match against OL, he scored as Bordeaux won 3-1 again.

Malcom is not expected to start the match but he could provide a spark off the bench.
