Ernesto Valverde suggested he could make changes to his side for Saturday’s second Clasico of the week. The Barcelona boss could bring Arthur, Philippe Coutinho or Arturo Vidal into the team for the Liga clash.
Barcelona prepared for El Clasico by watching a half-hour video of their opponents. Ernesto Valverde is concerned that although they beat Los Blancos 3-0 on Wednesday, they were not at their best throughout the game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Victory for Barcelona on Saturday would see them take the overall lead in the Clasico for the first time in 87 years. The two teams have played 241 times and are level on 95 wins with 51 draws.
Frenkie de Jong reckons that Sergio Ramos may regret picking up a deliberate booking against Ajax in the Champions League if his side exit the tournament to the Dutch side. However, he also feels Real Madrid are “clear favourites” to progress after winning the first leg 2-1.
