Gerard Pique warned Barcelona against complacency after they left Old Trafford with a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the first leg of their quarter-final clash.

An own goal from Luke Shaw was the difference between the two sides, but Pique pointed to the last round as evidence that the tie is not over yet.

“After Paris Saint-Germain won here by a larger margin you can’t trust the result,” he said.

”Look at what happened to them.

”They [United] are a great club and they can turn this around, but our fans will surely help us.”

Manchester United lost 2-0 to PSG at Old Trafford, before winning 3-1 in Paris to book their place in the quarter-final and will take confidence from that result.

However, Barcelona will be favourites to make it through, particularly given their superb home record in the Champions League.
