With all attention focused on Barcelona signing Frenkie de Jong and hoping to add his Ajax and Netherlands teammate Matthijs de Ligt as well, there is another potential transfer of an Eredivisie talent on the way. We are speaking of Ludovit Reis from Groningen, a case which is gaining more and more weight as time goes on.

And recently, Hans Nijland, Groningen’s CEO, told FOX Sports: “It’s not closed, but we are seriously considering Reis leaving for Barcelona.”

Former Barcelona player José Mari Bakero has reportedly been in the Netherlands, heading Barça’s negotiating staff to discuss the transfer.

Diario AS informs that the transfer could cost between four and five million euro. The 18-year-old would most likely sign for the B team, although he would perhaps do the preseason with the senior team, and of course, both the player and the club would hope he would soon progress to a full-time senior player.
