Sergi Samper was reunited with his former Barcelona team-mates on Thursday as he prepares to face them in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The midfielder then spoke about his old club and was asked if he felt it is possible for Barca to win the Champions League with homegrown stars.
“Of course it is. We won the most when we had academy graduates in the team. The more we have, the better it’ll go. I’m sure of it.
“It [La Masia] is important because it’s what makes us different. I speak from personal experience because I feel part of that. It’s what makes us different from the rest.”

Samper also spoke highly of midfielder Carles Alena as well as Riqui Puig, who he is backing to become a “great player.”
