The former Barcelona star opened his account in style

Sergi Samper’s departure from Barcelona earlier this year was pretty sad to see, but the midfielder seems to be enjoying himself in his new life with Vissel Kobe.

The 24-year-old joined up with Andres Iniesta and David Villa in Japan back in March in a move which will hopefully see him revive his career and enjoy an injury-free run.

Samper certainly seems to be heading in the right direction and scored a brilliant, individual goal in the club’s 4-0 win over Giravanz Kitakyushu in the Emperor’s Cup on Wednesday.

His team were already 3-0 up and cruising to victory when Samper took possession of the ball, beat three defenders and then coolly slotted home - almost Lionel Messi like?!
