Days after Barcelona’s club president, Jose Maria Bartomeu, had said publicly that a homecoming for Victor Valdés was in the cards, we are now hearing reports that the former goalkeeper could become a youth team coach.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Valdés has been offered a choice whether to manage Barcelona B or the Juvenil A team, two of the most important youth teams at Barça.

Should he choose to coach the B team, their current manager Javier García Pimienta would reportedly move up to the first team staff. Juvenil A’s current coach, Denis Silva, has not yet signed a renewal for next season with 15 days until the beginning of preseason.

Valdés has already managed a youth side at ED Moratalaz, a Madrid-based lower-league club. According to the report, he had a great season in charge of them.
