Barcelona Femeni kicked off their new season in style with a 9-1 win over Real Madrid’s CD Tacon on Saturday.

Los Blancos finally joined the women’s game in the summer when they announced plans to take over Club Deportivo Tacón. The name remains for now but next season they will be able to change it something far more Real Madridy (Real Madridish?).

Anyway, Saturday’s match was the first women’s (sort of) Clasico and Barcelona showed their class by coasting to victory at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

Alexia Putellas opened the scoring, Aitana Bonmati bagged a brace, and Jenni Hermoso took home the match ball after netting a hat-trick. Not bad going considering she did not even get on the pitch until the 53rd minute.

Caroline Graham Hansen and Mariona Caldentey were also on target for the hosts, while the game also featured an own goal from CD Tacon’s Lucia Suarez Garcia.

Here are some of the highlight’s from the match:

Not a bad way to start the season.
