Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino has been full of praise for Brazil team-mate Philippe Coutinho while on international duty with the Selecao.

The 29-year-old can’t speak highly enough of the Barcelona man who has enjoyed a bright start to the new season for club and country.

Coutinho has two assists and a goal in his first three La Liga outings and was also on target in Brazil’s 5-0 win over Bolivia in World Cup qualifying.

Here’s what Firmino’s had to say about the Barca man:

“He’s phenomenal. You simply can’t say that he’s not a magician. He has magical powers. He produces plays that don’t exist, that you couldn’t make up.

“ You always have to watch replays of his plays to understand what he’s done. He’s an unbelievable player.

“It was a pleasure to play with him at Liverpool, and it’s a pleasure to play with him for the Seleção. I’m a huge fan of his. He’s one of the very best players in the world.”

Coutinho, Firmino and Brazil are back in action later today when they take on Peru in World Cup qualifying.
