Luis Enrique has been talking about Ansu Fati again after calling the 17-year-old up for his latest Spain squad.
The Barcelona teenager is in the squad for internationals against Portugal, Switzerland and Ukraine and is in great form after scoring three goals in his first two games.
Enrique was asked at his new conference if he thinks Ansu is Lionel Messi’s heir at Barcelona but made it clear what he thinks of such talk.
“Ansu Fati is the heir to Ansu Fati,” he said.
“He has to look at himself, to be humble and keep working as he has been. Being humble and working is the advice that his family and those of us with experience in football will give him.
“What you see are his most technical characteristics. Even though he’s small, he has a good header. He interprets the game differently. With and without the ball, he knows his responsibilities for the collective.”
Fati scored his first international goal last time out on his first Spain start, and it would be no surprise if he was in the starting XI again for Enrique’s team.
