Antoine Griezmann has hit back at racist comments directed at Barcelona team-mate Ansu Fati following the club’s 5-1 Champions League win over Ferencvaros.

The World Cup winner took to Twitter to shame the reporting from Spanish daily ABC, the country’s third-largest newspaper.

He wrote: “Ansu is an exceptional boy who deserves respect just like all other human beings. No to racism and no to bad manners.”

Griezmann’s response came after some shameful comments in ABC’s match report where Fati is compared to a “young and black street seller” running from the police.

Fati scored his fourth goal of the season in the match at the Camp Nou, becoming the youngest player ever to score two goals in the Champions League.

Barcelona’s legal team are now looking into the remarks made about Fati and could sue the newspaper, according to Mundo Deportivo.
