Barcelona new signing Sergino Dest has been given the green light to make his debut for the Catalan giants.

The full-back is in Ronald Koeman’s 23-man squad for Sunday’s clash against Sevilla, but there was some doubt over whether he’d be allowed to play in the match.

Barca have now confirmed he has been reigstered in time and could feature at the Camp Nou.

Koeman spoke about the possibility of Dest playing in his pre-match press conference.

“I see him as a starter, but there is competition. Roberto’s doing well, we’re winning and the players coming in need to provide competition,” he said.

“For sure, Dest’s the future, but that doesn’t mean he can’t play straight away because of the quality of the player. If he needs to play tomorrow, I am not afraid about it.”

It still seems likely Roberto will start at right-back tonight, but it’s possible Dest could feature as a substitute at some point.
