Barcelona’s January transfer plans have reportedly been affected by Gerard Pique’s knee injury and means Eric Garcia is now back at the top of the club’s shopping list.

Speculation had suggested Barca would wait until the end of the season to land Garcia when he’s a free agent after being unable to agree a deal with Manchester City.

However, Barca may now have to cope without Pique for some time, meaning the club are now keen to move for Garcia in January, according to multiple reports.

The shift in focus is bad news for Memphis Depay’s hopes of moving to Barcelona in the winter because the club are unlikely to make two signings unless they can shift a couple of players first.

Ronald Koeman was asked about transfers again today in his pre-match press conference and didn’t really want to talk about possible arrivals. He did hint if it was financially possible then the club would look to do some business.
