Barcelona’s presidential elections will be held in January 2021 and the candidates are busy making pledges they hope will help further their cause.
We’ve already heard plenty from Victor Font and his plans should he win, but Emili Rousaud has also had quite a lot to say about what he wants to do if he is elected as the club’s next president.
Rousaud thinks renaming the Camp Nou would be a good idea and has already come up with a new name for Barca’s famous stadium.
“Regardless of the fact that [Messi’s] contract expires at the end of this season, because he is the present and at the same time living history of world football and of Barca, I intend to propose to our members via a referendum for the stadium to be renamed the ‘Camp Nou Leo Messi.”
The presidential candidate also has some big claims regarding potential new signings and added that his team are “working on bringing two top players.”
One of those players he admitted was Neymar and the second? Well, Rousaud went all coy but did offer this, “we hope to be able to announce soon the name of the other big-name player.”
