Sergino Dest trained as normal ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Osasuna on Sunday in La Liga despite reports the right-back has suffered a muscular issue.
Ronald Koeman spoke about the right-back after the session in his pre-match press conference but admitted there’s no guarantee Dest will be able to start the match.
“Dest trained well today, but tomorrow we know for sure. Today we’ve talked about who will play there if Dest can’t play.
“It isn’t serious because he did the session today. But he came back really tired after Kiev and had some problems in his leg.
“We need to make a decision and we are not willing to take risks with him because we know in his position at the minute there are injuries. If he’s OK he will start, if we have doubts he won’t”.
It seems as though Barcelona will make a late call on Dest, but they will certainly want the American starlet available given their injuries in defense.
There’s speculation Oscar Mingueza could fill in for Dest at right-back if the 20-year-old doesn’t make it after a strong debut in midweek against Dynamo Kiev.
Koeman wasn’t giving away too much about his possible line-up but did also admit he’d made a late call on Sergio Busquets after including the midfielder in his squad too.
