Agustí Benedito has launched his bid to become FC Barcelona’s president in the upcoming elections, after Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned this year.

With Joan Laporta and Victor Font looking like early frontrunners, Benedito will have to find a way to differentiate himself to win the election.

It’s his third time running, after 2010 (when he finished second) and 2015 (when he finished third.)

Benedito announced his candidacy with the following video:

In it, Benedito stressed moments in history in which he believed he was right and the leadership made a mistake.

Recently, Benedito sparred with Font about the vote of no confidence to remove Bartomeu. Benedito said he opposed the vote because it would put Barcelona on the hook for Bartomeu’s debt should he be removed, something Font denied. The latter insisted Benedito was “confusing” the club’s members.

Ultimately, Bartomeu resigned prior to the vote.
