A Diario ARA report via Sport says that Philippe Coutinho may be on the transfer list for Barcelona. The Brazilian has been one of the more up and down players in recent Barca history. Being bought from Liverpool for a truckload of money puts the pressure on anyone.
The thought process seems to be that since Barcelona have a plethora of players who can play the number 10 role, Coutinho may not be needed with his large wage bill. The emergence of young Pedri is also a factor.
Coutinho was one of the players I was most excited to watch coming into this Barca season. He had a pretty solid season on loan at Bayern Munich, and started this year off well before picking up an injury.
It remains to be seen what Coutinho’s value is in an economically poor transfer market, so I would expect Barca to keep the Brazilian at least till the summer.
