Barcelona interim president Carles Tusquets has been talking about Ronald Koeman and given the coach his full backing despite a less than impressive start to the new campaign.
Saturday’s draw with Valencia in La Liga left Barca eight points off the top and with only six wins from their opening 13 games in 2020-21.
Yet Tusquets insists the Dutchman has his full backing and is doing a good job at the Camp Nou.
“I’m not in charge of anyone. Besides, Koeman is doing well, he has good judgment, he bets on the youth team and young people and he has absolutely all my support and he will always have it. I went to lunch with him one day and I see him as optimistic.”

There’s no suggestion yet that Koeman’s job is under threat but the pressure will increase on the coach if results and performances do not improve in the coming weeks.
Tusquets will be replaced by a new permanent president at the end of January after the scheduled elections, and the new man in charge will also have to decide if he thinks Koeman is the right man for the job.
