Gerard Pique’s presence has been missed on the Barcelona pitch. The veteran Spaniard’s missing coverage in the back line has been something of note in recent years whenever he’s out, but this year it’s been especially tough.
Pique chatted about his recovery process and the youngsters that have been taking his place.
“We will try to do things correctly and the plan is to return as soon as I can. I know it’s an injury which isn’t easy, but we’re going to do it. I’m going to fight and try to help the team as soon as possible.
“Very good players are coming out of the academy, players the coach is trusting in. With confidence and responsibility, we will have very good players in the near future, more than we have already, who are at a high level. I am very confident, the feelings are better than the results and I think we will move forward.”
