Barcelona will be without Lionel Messi on Tuesday against Eibar with the captain set for an extended Christmas break.
The team were back in training on Sunday after being given four days off but there was no sign of the captain who had reportedly been given permission to miss the session.
Messi has instead been allowed to extend his break in Rosario where he spent Christmas, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Barca play Tuesday and then have two days off before returning to training ahead of their trip to Huesca. Messi is expected back for that session which will be their first of 2021.
Messi’s absence means Antoine Griezmann or Philippe Coutinho could come back in, after being benched last time out against Real Valladolid.
Ousmane Dembele could also be another option to start the match. Ronald Koeman said in his last press conference he expected the Frenchman to make the squad for Eibar.
