Miralem Pjanic has given a revealing interview ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against former side Juventus where he’s admitted he’s unhappy with his game time since moving to the Camp Nou.

The 30-year-old has started all five of Barca’s group games in Europe but has made only one start in La Liga. The rest of his five appearances in the league have all come off the bench.

Pjanic says he can’t understand why he’s not seen more game time this season.

“I should have played more and I want to. Honestly, I don’t understand why I have not,” he said.

“I want to play much more. I know I can give a lot more, and I have done well every time the coach has called on me. I don’t know what else I can do. I’m training well and I’m prepared to play more.

“I cannot be satisfied and I’m not. I’ve never accepted the idea of not playing and I’m not going to now. It’s a very delicate situation and I don’t like it.”

It’s hard to disagree with Pjanic given the way Barca have performed this season. The new arrival has looked assured when he has been given opportunities by Koeman, but the Dutch coach seems to prefer Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong as his midfield pair currently.
