Martin Braithwaite has confirmed he will wear the No. 19 shirt at Camp Nou after completing his move to Barcelona from Leganes on Thursday.
Barcelona announced that the striker has signed on until 30 June 2024 after they paid his €18 million release clause.
There were a few shirt numbers up for grabs following a number of January departures, and Braithwaite has taken Carles Alena’s No. 19.
Alena swapped to the No. 19 after losing the No. 21 at the start of the season, a decision which did not seem to go down too well with the midfielder at the time.
Kevin-Prince Boateng wore the No. 19 last season, let’s hope that’s not an omen, while Munir El Haddadi, Lucas Digne and Sandro have also worn it previously as has Lionel Messi.
