International matches featuring Barcelona players cancelled

Precautionary measures continue

National team matches featuring Barcelona players have been cancelled, as the sports world continues postponing events to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The friendly between Spain and the Netherlands on the 31st, featuring Frenkie de Jong for the Oranje and a host of Barcelona players for La Roja, has been cancelled.

Meanwhile, South American teams will be out of action as their first two FIFA World Cup qualification rounds have been postponed. Neto and Arthur for Brazil, Arturo Vidal for Chile, and Lionel Messi for Argentina will not play. Luis Suárez was not expected to play for Uruguay in any case, due to injury.

More cancellations are expected.

Football in general could be taking two weeks off, at least, with La Liga already confirming that they will suspend at least the next two rounds.
