The president of the Catalan government, Quim Torra, has tested positive for coronavirus as the region, along with all of Spain and most of Europe, continue taking emergency measures.

“The challenge for the country is formidable, and we have got to have an attitude which is more civic-minded, more supportive, more generous than ever. I ask you all to please self-quarantine,” he said.

In that spirit, Barcelona’s manager Quique Setién has sent a message to fans through social media to stay home.

“I’m here sitting at home in my sofa, when I would have loved to have gone to work and coach like I always do. Now we have recommendations to abide by, which require us to be responsible. Think about the risk posed for many people... for you, and for everyone else. So, stay home,” the manager said through a video.

Three members of the Catalan government are being held in preventative quarantine now after the president’s positive test.
