Luis Suarez has offered another update on his recovery from injury and has described his current progress as “spectacular.”

The Uruguay international has been out of action since undergoing knee surgery in January that initially ruled him out for four months.

Suarez has been posting positive updates over the last few weeks, and his latest comments suggest he is closing in on a return to full fitness.

“My comeback is going spectacularly well,” he said.

“I am starting to run now, and when the team returns, I will be with them.”

The current La Liga suspension means that it’s highly likely Suarez will be ready to return by the time Barcelona get back out on the pitch.

Reports on Saturday have suggested domestic football could resume in June, with the Champions League set to be played in August.
