Former Barcelona and Argentina national team boss Cesar Luis Menotti defended Lionel Messi this week. The Argentinian discussed the results of El Clasico and defended the Barca star despite his tough night at the Bernabeu. He also made an interesting comparison to a hunter and the way that Messi plays.
“He’s like a hunter hunting 1,000 partridges a day,” he said.
”The day he hunts 999, they will say he’s not well. You can’t expect him to always solve things.
”I’m worried about the team, not him, because you can’t always expect him to be the one with the solution.
”Someone else has to show up at Barcelona.”

Not going to lie to you all. I had to Google what a partridge was. The only time I’ve ever heard that word is in an old Christmas tune. Turns out, partridges “are medium-sized non-migratory birds”.
Take this quote for what you will.
