Is the Brazilian’s time at Barcelona weighing on his mind?

Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho “gets shaken very easily” when things aren’t going too well for him, according to former Bayern Munich striker Giovane Elber.

The Brazilian has spent the season on loan at Bayern after a difficult spell at the Camp Nou but may miss the rest of the campaign after undergoing ankle surgery.

Elber spoke about Coutinho’s time in the Bundesliga and reckons he has not been able to reproduce the form that made him such a hit with Liverpool.

“When Philippe arrived at Bayern, everybody hoped that we would see the same Coutinho from Liverpool, where he had great games, but he came after a season at Barcelona where things weren’t good for him. I think maybe that stuck in his head,” he said.

“I think he’s a person who gets shaken very easily when things aren’t going so well. He’s not a person who thinks, ‘I’m Philippe Coutinho and I’m going to fix this.’”

Coutinho’s future remains the subject of much speculation. Bayern are not expected to take up their purchase option, and there have been rumors he could get another chance to impress at Barcelona under Quique Setien.
