Ousmane Dembele was back at Barcelona on Wednesday to continue his recovery from injury. The club confirmed that he was at the Ciutat Esportiva “after passing a medical to continue his recovery.”
The Frenchman underwent surgery on a torn hamstring in February that saw Barcelona rule him out for six months.
Barcelona were subsequently given permission to bring in Martin Braithwaite as an emergency signing.
Braithwaite’s arrival means Dembele will not be able to play again in La Liga in 2019-20 even if he were to return to full fitness before the season was completed.
The forward would, however, be eligible to play in the Champions League. UEFA are reportedly hoping to restart the competition in July or August, with Barcelona currrently midway through their last 16 tie with Napoli.
