Barcelona loanee Jean-Clair Todibo faces a big test on Saturday as his Schalke side come up against Borussia Dortmund in the Revierderby as the Bundesliga makes a welcome return to action.
The game is the biggest fixture of the weekend, and Todibo looks good to start the match at the Westfalenstadion as Ozan Kabak and Benjamin Stambouli are sidelined due to injury.
There has been plenty of focus on the 20-year-old in recent weeks as speculation over his future ramps up. Barcelona, for whatever reason, seem intent on selling him this summer and he’s been linked with a host of clubs including Juventus.
Todibo has said he can imagine staying at Schalke, and a strong performance on Saturday will only further fuel speculation over his future.
Dortmund have a pretty tasty attack with new signing Erling Braut Håland having enjoying a brilliant start to life in Germany. He’s bagged 12 goals in 11 games since joining in the winter before the competition was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Jadon Sancho has enjoyed another strong season with Dortmund and was also in prolific form before play was paused. The Englishman had netted five times and contributed six assists in 11 games in 2020.
All eyes will be on the Bundesliga this weekend as Germany’s top flight becomes the first major league to restart since football was halted, and you can bet there will be plenty of interested parties keeping tabs on Todibo.
